Schema Markup

Definition

Structured data added to web pages in JSON-LD (or Microdata/RDFa) format that provides machine-readable descriptions of your content. Common types include Organization, Service, FAQPage, LocalBusiness, Article, BreadcrumbList, and Product.

Why It Matters

Schema markup is one of the highest-leverage AEO improvements. It gives AI systems a clean, structured model of your entity, services, and content — reducing ambiguity and improving citation accuracy.

Example

Adding FAQPage schema to a page turns each question and answer into a structured pair that AI engines can extract and cite. Adding Organization schema tells every AI crawler exactly who you are, where you are located, and what you do.
